Looks like I never learn
Saw this Wade and Butcher 7/8 on the bay a Gminutes ago and bid. I really though i would be out bid but at the last second i won it. From the photos there's very little wrong with it and it should clean up ok. Now the wait begins. I've go several i picked out to reduce my collection but it seems i keep adding to it.

Thanked: 4827I have worked trough a very large formula and apparently the math works kind of like this. If the number of razors bought exceeds the number of razors sold then the accumulation of said razors begins to grow at an exponential rate equal to or extrapolated to the ration of the difference multiplied by a factor of the inverse reduction. So from that I was able to concretely say my collection is growing too. Looks like another good project with great lines and what appears to be stellar ancient scales.

Thanked: 250Razor collecting is like this for me.....I never sell one, some I use, and some get put away for my viewing pleasure. It's a disease that I live with.

Thanked: 2284Yes, I use this same formula too Shaun. But for me, it's just to confuse myself so that I forget what I was actually trying to figure out in the first place. That way I get to keep everything. Works very well.

I am looking forward to recieving this razor. currently i have 2 Wade and butchers like this one. I really should clean this one up and shave with it and compare it to the others and keep the best 2 and let the others find a new home. That's difficult to do. Saying good by to an old friend is so hard to do.

Thanked: 4827Often that is my issue, the saying goodbye. In part I mostly sell on the classifieds in the hopes that they are in good homes. I think in my mind I would rather have a blade be loved than to make a buck or two on it. I have also given a few away in the hopes that they help new people experience a solid razor.

Most of the time when i sell on the bay it's just recoup expensive s . I enjoy cleaning up and honeing some razors. I will say that there are friends i would ship to outer space if it were possible. At this point i really don't know what a fair price for a razor is and i let the bay decide. if i knew i too would use the classifieds because i believe you find nicer people there.

This one came today and as i suspected it was a lot better than the photo no pits just surface rust.. I removed the hinge pin and started the clean up. it took about an hour and it shines. the scales were a bit odd. the pins had a lot of patina and some green color around them so i assume they are original. They match on the ends but one side was somewhat rounded and the other was a little flat. back side a little thinner than the front. I know the scales weren't stamped out with a machine there horn. Anyway i oiled it and wrapped in wax paper . i had an old Wade & Butcher coffin so i put it in the name brand coffin and put the griffin coffin up for latter use.
