A Different Scuttle
I saw this & I liked it so I grabbed it. It is different from other scuttles I've seen. It is made by James W. Tufts which was a very popular company back in the day & made some very nice items for the lower & middle class people to own. This company made some very nice pieces plus some of it is plated, triple plated & quadruple plated. I fell in love with this scuttle when I saw it. It also has a nice shaving brush holder. I think it will clean up more but according to the article on eBay about James W Tufts, it says not to use polish on it or it can remove the plating. This article written by eBay is here:
Complete Guide to James W. Tufts Silver | eBay
The hot water goes in the bottom part as usual & it also has drain holes in the top for any water to drain back down into.
I love this thing! It has the name Ed Freeman so when I use it I guess I'll just be Ed..........Last edited by engine46; 03-31-2016 at 08:28 AM.

I've never seen a scuttle like that, I like it. From its appearance, it almost looks like you could percolate your morning coffee in it before your shave.

Neat, Steve! Hit it with some NevrDull and then Renwax.
Let's see that on SOTD!"Don't be stubborn. You are missing out."
I rest my case.

Well Ed, I'm going to overlook the fact that you 'fell in love' with a scuttle and say, cool!

Yeah Tom, I plan on putting it in the SOTD. I want to be careful if I try to clean it after that article I read. I researched it first though. I was thinking of trying a little silver polish on a Q-tip but some never dull might work too. I need to get some more. Mine was so old, the cleaner in the cotton dried up!
Oh alright Mr. Rinky Dink. That's Mr. Ed to you!
