    Default Stainless/Style Easter basket

On the eve of Easter I was getting tired about 9:00 and before I went to bed I decided to check some bids. SO I seen one I had been watching without too much activity and almost decided to let it go at that and go to bed. I knew it wasn't going to go cheap and thought I would fall asleep anyway. BUT, I set the timer on my phone and laid down on the couch and fell asleep. Normally this doesn't work as I could sleep through a 7.0 earthquake the first 5 hours I go down. The alarm did wake me in time to sit down and think about what I was going to do and I knocked a couple hundred off my bid and sat there waiting for the last minute. That little bit of Bid adrenaline paid off and I hit the button. Green bar to my surprise "you won" and when I looked lower I saw I really won. I paid and went to bed. When I woke the next morning I went back to make sure I wasn't having another lucid dream :<0)

I was a little disappointing they only came with cheap plastic sleeves Ha ha ha.

When they came I could see I had my work cut out for me. I just went right to the lower grit. ( Maas ) After what seemed like minutes I took them to the final polishing routine. ( Blue Magic)

The Styledge did have some black spit on the tip of the toe. May have to change out that wedge someday.

The Stainless had a fault also. The dang pivot pin is bent. No sign of anybody whacking it incorrectly with a hammer but I will have to repin it to make it perfect........( someday) You can see the nail holding it up and back scale well below the front.

Considering all the work I had to do to get them photo ready, I still think I got the 2nd best deal of the week :<0)

I hunt for only 1 more of the big collectable Ducks and then my training shall be complete. I still consider myself a spert when it comes to Duck hunting.

Well the Sunday shave went very well this morning. I stropped it twice as much as I normally would. I was thinking this stainless is hard and hasn't been used in a long time. I have my own routine for honing and this shaved as if I stopped at 12k. Normally at that grit I get a sharp but somewhat harsh feeling edge. I will take it to my Zulu to try and get that buttery feeling. It was kind of nice thinking this is how the barbers of yesteryear felt test driving a new razor. True or not it made it fun. While stropping I was thinking about the history of this razor and how it came to me in brand new condition. Well the bent pin on this thing made it very uncomfortable to strop. Very loose scales when open. I imagined some barber buying it at a discount because of this flaw and thinking he would fix or get it fixed. Into the drawer it went and the project never got finished, for what ever reason. Who knows really I just wanted to share those thoughts. I know a lot of you say you wonder about the history of the razors you use and I just went a little farther and told the story that went off in my head :<0)
