Thanked: 1This just in
Picked this one up for $15 on ebay. It is in great shape don't know what I'll do with it. I'm guessing it to be 1907+ due to the bakealite scales and it has to be post 1891 because it says Sheffield England. It says Black Demon on the blade and Special with the circle be arrow cross on the tang. can anyone help ID, date, appraise value further.

Thanked: 3795Well it's a Wade and Butcher razor and we don't do valuations or appraisals. It's probably as good as most of their other razors. If you hone it, watch out for the stabilizer.

Per the forum rules, discussion of value is not allowed. Beyond that, there is a fair amount of hone wear on the spine and the blade appears noticeably narrower at the toe end. I can't see any frown in these pictures, but the pattern of hone wear indicates there might be some. It's a Wade & Butcher, so the steel should be decent.

Thanked: 1I guess I should read the terms. Sorry my mistake wont happen again. Could I ask about what year 1907 is the best I've got based the earliest know bakelite. That doesn't mean just a whole lot cause they could have been rescaled. I am confident its newer than 1891

Yes its post 1891. Yes you can ask when it was made. I think Wade and Butcher stopped making razors around 1925. So even pinning a date to that range is not bad. Look at completed listings on ebay, on a similar razor to get an idea. Should shave nice. Enjoy.
