A day to remember.
Finally got a Saturday off work, went to the local flea market knowing it was gonna be huge. Here's the goods I brought home.
11 razors, 2 four sided strops, 1 nice Esher.
Razors top row L-R.
Wm. Gilchrist 15/16 frameback.
Geo.Wostholmes 5/8, 1/2 hollow.
Wade 5/8 full hollow.
JR Torrey 5/8 full hollow.
Eyre & Co. 5/8 full hollow.
Bottom row L-R.
Wade & Butcher 15/16 frameback.
Husgen & ERN 15/16 full hollow.
Allegany Instrument Corp. 11/16 full hollow.
Trustee 5/8 full hollow.
Peter J Michel's, "Merit" 5/8 full hollow.
No - Name. 5/8 full hollow, with unmarked box.
Strop on left is a Currier brand.
The other is unknown.
The Esher measures, 1 1/2" wide, by 7" long, by 6/8" thick.
Total purchase....just under $300 .
Plus made some new contacts, and got sunburnt.

M.G. Mike, wow man, you scored some nice pieces!!!! You got a lot of good makers there, wow, a Gilchrist & that W&B frameback plus the rest & an Escher!!!!! I love mine.

Yep, you're so right Andrew. I have one like it. I haven't had a bad shave from a W&B ever. Nice size rock also.

I just can't understand these "Flea Markets" that some of you guys find your gems.
I have never found anything shaving related at a flea market,,, did find about half of a greasy Carborundum that the vendor pulled out of his toolbox,,, he wanted $30.00 for it . I just walked away in shock.
Florida is supposed to be the place where all the seniors come to finish their years,,, you would think they would at least bring their straights with them,,, so I could benefit from their passing.
,,,, but No,, they leave their straights at the dang flea markets up North.
