Thanked: 2284What's with the Black Demon?
Picked this up today, a Krusius Brothers, Black Demon. I did a search on here trying to find some information and had no luck. However, I did type in Black Demon alone and got many different hits. Seems as though there were a lot of razor manufacturers that had Black Demon labelled blades. American, German, and even a Wade & Butcher...... What gives??

Thanked: 2284Thanks Kyle. My pic sucks, but it has a Blued tang and tail that carries through on top of the spine as well. Scales are real, fake Ivory ( Where's the cheeky emoticon? Lol.) and the Demon symbol on them is a decal not a inlaid...... what's the word..... thingy. Should clean up well I think.

I've got a Peter J Michels brand "Presto" model razor with black scales and the same exact devil figure inlaid. Not sure if it was original although I couldn't immediately tell if they'd been replaced at some point.

Thanked: 2284Exactly what I'm talking about. I've seen this same devil/demon on many different kinds of razors. They must have passed that stencil around to maker to maker to maker. It's the same with some etches too. You see the same etch done on different brands as well.

Making inlays, bolsters, collars and such was a specialized business, I think. Lots of inlays, bolsters, collars, etc were sold to different makers of razors or just makers OF scales, going back to early Sheffield though more modern Germans, even those marked for a particular retailer. It's a devil!
Was probably in a catalog once upon a time?
I have seen it in silver, brass and black. Yours seems black. Think it is blued or painted?Last edited by sharptonn; 05-31-2016 at 03:04 AM.

Nice Andrew
It looks quite a bit like my Geneva (blade)
I'm with onimaru55. I think it has a slight resemblance to the Henkles Twinworks logo
