Very nice. Love the strop. Please give us some feedback on its performance. 'Real' Amber? A piece of amber big enough to turn into a handle would have cost a small fortune. I suspect it's the Neo-Resinate he advertises on his website. Pretty though. I like it.

Thanked: 2The strop is absolutely fantastic. Beautiful craftsmanship. Very light draw, which I like, and the linen component is nice and soft straight away. The razor I tried today has never been better so either the strop is magic or I was being extra careful with my new toy. Either way it is really amazing.
The brush is real amber...sort of. It's 95% real amber that is pulverised and mixed with 5% resin to make it turnable. It feels heavier than resin and is warmer to the touch. The depth of colour in it doesn't come out fully in my photos. Here's the little card he sent with it explains about amber. The 5% thing I read on a post on another forum.

Those are both incredible, I really like the strop I've been eyeing them for a while I just haven't pulled the trigger yet. I'm starting to kick myself about now for not getting one sooner.

Thanked: 3227Try back lighting your brush next time you take a photo to bring out the depth of colour in the handle.

Thanked: 98Fancy, the brush is sure unique, the strop looks great, how long is the stropping surface? I have vintage strops and they are Long- 23-24" stropping surface, the cordovan must have been from draft horses, maybe most of the cordovan nowdays is from smaller horses,? so they split it and make 4 strops where in the old days they just had more stock of leathers.?

Thanked: 2Hi FAL,
The shell length is 20" so with the handle tabs and makers mark taken out the clear stropping area is around 16". So definitely smaller than yours.
