Size: 61.0 KB I saw these on the bay and made an offer. I hope and think they will clean up ok. I know i will have to make a set of scales for one but i already have some horn that should be the right size. just need to finish them. the others should be fun to play with.

The blonde scaled one is a Joseph Elliot and the Square point next to it is a joseph Rodgers. The three about it are Henckels clauss and a Bigelow & Dowse co. The coffin is Wade & Butcher and the paddle i forget. anyway a mixed bag of sheffields and Solingen. There was two photos of the razors one for each side. both about the same.

Nice haul, I'll keep to the wilds... God knows I've spent enough there, already.

I did something similar not long ago. I bought 3 for about 15 bones apiece shipped. The general idea was to clean them up, get them shaving, and see if I can sell them for just enough to purchase more to clean and hone. Sort of get a revolving door that will help out new folks after cheap shave ready blades, and save my razors the torment of being dulled and sharpened for my own amusement. So far 2 of them have been cleaned up, and one is honed and shaving nicely. The third hasn't been touched because it needs new scales, so I kinda feel your pain there. I've got a set of horn scales but they need some minor shaping and I haven't quite felt like digging into that yet.

I couldn't quite make it out in the photos but it may not matter since when i start to clean it it may disappear.

The etching on the elliot is MAINE. The Claus is a 6/8 and the Hinckel is 5/8 and the Bigelow is 5/8. The Joseph Rodgers is 7/8. The Elliot turned out to be 7/8. I hope they turn out ok. I will soak them in WD40 For a while before i start.

The first I think is the 7/8 Joseph Elliot left and right. The scales were toast so I made these out of horn. The other photo is top to bottom Joseph Elliot Joseph Rodgers Clauss Henckel then bigelow. I may have the bottom 2 mixed up but this is what i had when i got through cleaning. I should have done more but The hands got tired. I will probable keep the Elliot and let the others find a new home.
