Size: 15.0 KB Went surfing the other day and saw this one for almost nothing and free shipping so like a hungry fish I bit. It came today and to my surprise the blade had no rust or stains and the scales are all but perfect. Dirty but good you know. I removed the hinge pin and cleaned the scales and the blade then buffed the blade some and it shines. The photo did not show much but enough to take a chance. I have the scales soaking in mink oil now and will remove them in a couple of days re-assemble and hone. The blade shows no hone wear and is fairly sharp. It is a wedge and I will guess 5/8 maybe a little more. I may have got lucky. I sometimes forget. It is a Wade & Butcher square point.

I really can't make up my mind on this one. The selfish part of me wants to hone it and get the first shave off it now it is resurrected. Then I think since this is my hobby and I probably want keep it that I should let it go so the person who ends up with it can have the fun of honing. I'll figure it out soon.
