    If I'm not mistaken we have a member (Don Wiss?) here on SRP who is a descendant of the J. Wiss & Sons family.

    I have a J. Wiss & Sons that I've had for several years now, very fine shaver.

    Steel in american terms is probably behind only case and genco, though it is offset by the fact it is easier to hone than those makers by quite a bit.

    Tom, I know what ya mean about the brownish color. Sometimes it takes a little TLC to bring 'em back to jet black. I've done it by just buffing until it was black again. That was surely a nice score. I think I have one laying around too but I have never seen a Wissdom.
