Some thing to play with.
Picked these 2 up faily cheap for a project later on. If nothing else the scales are good. I'll clean and hone and then later on some one will want a starter razor. Just feeding the hobby.

Thanked: 4828You have been picking up quite a few ivory and bone scaled razors. I'm starting to think you have a detector or something. Nice looking score.

You know you never know what you have until it's in hand. The scales look good in the photos off the bay the blades show some wear but how much i want really know until they get here. I'll keep my fingers crossed.

First off What is a doppelganger?
The bottom one came today and at first i thought it was bone. But when I removed the blade and cleaned the scales i was pleasantly supprized to find it is ivory. With the blade worn as bad as it is it will never go back in these scales. I have an old black set of scales that i think will fit it just fine. I will look for a replacement blade for the scales. The scales cleaned up very good . the blade cleaned and polished good but worn.

The top one came in today and it looks good. scales need some cleaning and the blade to be polished but no rust. As soon as this gets done i'll get the hones out . I've never heard of Figaro & M DePosee before but then again there are a lot of them i haven't heard of. It dosen't say but i think it's Sheffield.

I got the top one honed up and tried it. The first shave was not impressive but i have used it 4 times and each gets better. Each blade is truly different.
