Default Good Pickin's at the Flea Market!

One of the better flea markets of the summer. I don't know if it's because Brimfield is in a few days or what, but I ended up with 15 razors from three different vendors and it all works out at 5 bucks per razor which nowadays is really low even for the flea market. Not a typical outing by any means! Last summer there was nothing even close to this. Some are in great shape, some are in normal flea market shape, some aren't so pretty...

... (first row) Silver Steel Imperial Solingen, Christan & Son Boston, Christan & Son Boston, Genco, Genco, Henckels 78, Mack, ... (second row) Morley, Brandt Prussia, Pike MFG, Frederick Reynolds, Frederick Reynolds Celebrated Hollow, HM Christensen, ... (on the side) Wade & Butcher that's been modified, Wade & Butcher wedge with etch.

A few close ups. Here's the Wade & Butcher with the etch. It's a ship I think it says "Atlantic USMS" which I just started researching but maybe United States Mail Service or U.S. Mail Steamship Company?

Here's the Mack which I think is cool with the devil guy on the scales

And normally I think of sharpening stones when I think of Pike. I like this one because it's local to NH and I can't recall seeing a razor by Pike, at least not recently.

Well, these ought to keep me busy for a while! It's a long winter with no open air antiques markets, flea markets, garage sales, etc. in the area so I'll use these for winter projects to remind me of good pickin's during summer months!

    Great hull buddy.
I just love them flea markets, had a hull like that myself this year, and cheap too.

What do you mean by "brimfield" in a couple days.

The Brimfield Antiques show in Brimfield, Massachusetts. It's three times a year and is one of the biggest in the country, I believe. A lot the flea market vendors and antique store owners and suppliers around New England get geared up to go. I bet a lot of the action at the flea market today was vendor-on-vendor, shifting inventory to drop certain things and stock up on other things before the show. I've been only once, last summer, and it was enormous.

    OK..!!
Phew...thought you were meaning Brimfield, Ohio.

That's my neck of the woods, and I don't allow any poaching in my hunting grounds. But if ya ask sweet like, I might put ya on some good game trails.
