Being mailed to me shortly.
Not sure of how salvageable this might be, but it's worth the chance.

Thanks for showing them, but the photos are avatar size & hard to see exactly what you bought.

Thanked: 4828With picture like the the gamble is there. I hope it pays for you. I have gotten a couple of beauties that way. The others we won't discuss.

Looks like there could be some damage on the toe. not sure why I could not save the originals as anything but a thumbnail. Bit of red rust, but the edge looks free of nicks, and the scales look original. Considering the owner is mailing it gratis, I cannot lose. Apparently this was someone's razor in WW2 and beyond. Part of wrapping up an estate, and the holder found out about my hobby in a thread on a site related to another interest we both share.

Hopefully these are better. The potential carack is more like a deep scratch. there is some "red" rust near the bevel, but it looks like it should be okay with a bit of work. Scales are in decent enough shape, but have someone's initials scratched in them. Thoughts?

Initials add character. I have a couple with initials in the scales.
You wonder who they were and their fate.If you don't care where you are, you are not lost.
