I ordered a ShaveSmith custom this summer and it came today.
It's a kamisori with a western grind, a french point with a shoulderless grind. The handle has a twist.

I ran down to the shop and made a block .. it's not the last one I will make for it, but just a rest until I can make a better one, but it's maple.

I gave it a light strop and its ready for tomorrow

That is a handsome looking blade. I've never shaved with the kamisori so I don't have any idea how they feel manipulating around the shaving areas. I suppose the bend in the handle is for ease of use ? Interesting. I'm not an expert observer of kamisoris by any means, but I've never seen one like that.
Be careful how you treat people on your way up, you may meet them again on your way back down.

Excellent, congrats., still can't do the Kami's....

Couldn't help but notice the Kings Men flask, I stumbled on a Kings Men bowl of the shave soap, perfectly preserved, was fantastic soap, great lather and fantastic scent...is that aftershave lotion?

I've seen those but have never heard any reviews of them. Can't wait to see how it goes. I have a couple traditional kamisoris and a few western styled symmetrical grind kamisoris. I like them all. It is a nice diversion from the standard straight razors.

Thanks ... and No - it was a tin of Luxury Talc ... but now - it is a blade bank for my DE blades ... because the 'look' of the tin fits right in (in a man's shaving area) ... it is a blade bank 'hidden in plain view'

I dont know that I am knowledeable enough to do a real review of the maker - but I can tell you that Christopher is very responsive to email, and he is good to work with. He was moving his shop from one place to another around the time of my order, and then had an illness to deal with, so it took about 2 to 3 weeks longer than I hoped for, but he kept me up-to-date and let me know what was going on. To me that is huge. I've seen some folks that just vanish - and others that never even respond to email. Christopher isn't like that ... I will likely order from him again, as the workmanship is very good.

It will take a long time to fill (I hope) ... but I don't think it can be emptied. Once it's full, I'll bring it to work and drop it in a sharps container and then buy another tin of some type.

That will take years to fill, I used a DE for over 40 years and I didn't SE blades more than a couple of times, later on only one time and pitch. That can will tide you over for many years. Tc
