Wester Bros.
Picked up this razor today.. blade needs a little help but the scales and bolsters are good. Wester Bros. 'Fraternity'.
Finally broke down and bought a few older brushes.
Brush No. 1
Missed the crack but oh well..
Brush No. 2
Guy i bought the Wester from gave me this for free cuz 'im a good customer'. Not sure if i can do anything with it though. Handle is split as shown.
Under $60 for the lot. The SR was half of that. Not a bad day if i find even one blade. Plus we stopped for a flight at the Olde Saratoga Brewery.. liquid lunch is best lunch.
Safe weekend my dudes.

Would epoxy or CA and some judicious clamping rescue that handle? I'm sure one of the experts on here has an idea.

Thanked: 2284Not sure how handy you are on a table saw, but you could literally cut an octagon handle on the table saw, drill the appropriate holes and epoxy the ends into it. I had the exact same model, with the same crack in the handle, and turned a handle out of desert ironwood.

My thought was to clamp it, and wrap with a thread around the knurled area, then coating the thread with something (epoxy, CA). Like the eyes on a fishing pole. Or go primitive and use sinew.

OOhhhh, Wester Bros..... I've got a Manganese Steel and love it. Consistently gives terrific shaves, so dependable. Nice score, should be looking and shaving great in short order

You may want to look at fly tying thread, there's a thread called floss they use for tying flies that you put a reactor on, and it turns rock hard, and smooth. Some really cool stuff!!
Here's a place to look.

I just bounced around on the net and read up on the floss. I think ill try that. I was thinking Irish linen like a pool cue wrap but this seems like a better option. Plus my fishing buddy from work does some fly tying.. might be able to hit him up.
