Thanked: 127Back again with many new Razors
Hi Everybody :-)
Its been a few Months since i was the last time here for more than a few minutes as i had some important things to do,
well, what could be more important than spending time with metal, edges and hones?
In my Case, Exams, Exams and even some mor of them, about 15 in the last three months and 4 main exams last week,
im happy that they are over now for a while so that i can spend some time with the finer things of Life :-)
In the Last months there came some new Razors into my Collection wich i like to show you :-)
First was this Maher & Grosh Trusty Razor, a very nice one wich i believe wasnt made in Toledo but in Sheffield:
Second one was this very nice Korff & Hornsberg, light smiling and very thin grounded, i believe its one of the best
Razors in my Collection, but its a bit difficult for me to shave with as its a bit lightweight.
Had to place new Rivets on the Scales as the old Rivets had been of steel and were rusted, the new ones dont look
very nice but i wanted to keep the original scales so i guess its OK.
Third one was (you may laught as these Razors are very common) my first Puma, very thin grounded, a A-Grade Razor
except of the used look. The Scales were broken so i reactivated some old ones by using a lead wedge and modern rivets,
i dont know if i like the enought to keep them on place but they work, not nice but practible scales.
Still liking Kamis, the fourth was a NOS Henkotsu, not exactly the Model i wanted (searched for a 7/8" thats a bit heavier) but
also a fine Razor.
The fifth one is what i believe to be a 1930s or old Style Kami, a Hidari Masamune (as the seller said), a hell of a Razor, thin, loud
and sharp that no Whisker can resist, i like these kind of Kamis, in my eyes they are better than the new style ones.
And the next Kami in Line, a Kanetaka in 15/16" wich i wrapped new.
And Number seven, a special one that i wanted since it was thrown on the Market at the Beginning of this year,
a Böker Classic with spanish head and charcoal scales, a very nice Allrounder that was delivered sharp enough
to shave with (not sharp enough to have a luxerious shave but sharp enough to shave in general).
Number eight, a Classic TI from Art of Shaving, must be a Version of the Le Dandy, not as half-hollowed like the
Special Coiffeur but als not as hollow as the Loup & Belier or ther Special Sonnant.
Number Nine is a Razor made in the Town i work, very thin and made in the 1920s, very rare as it was a small producer
and unknown to most collectors but a guarantee to produce a BBS.
And as i like big french Wedges, numer ten is a 7/8"+ tangless Frenchie, heavy and without tang not that easy to handel but
fun in the face.
I guess that had been the ones of the last months, have to look, maybe there had been one or two more :-)

Thanked: 24Congratulations on some fine additions to your collection. I really like the shoulder-less look of that Magic; does it feature a traditional symmetrical western grind?
Cheers,
Brian

Thanked: 127Thank you BadB, the Magic has a solid western grind
Its a very simple Razor, cheap scales and easy but good made, it was easy to sharpen and got a good edge, tomorrow i will have the first shave with it.
