Just couldn't help it.
Just browsing the bay and noticed this one. I won it for less than 10.00 I think it'll clean up and since it's a Henckel i know it'll shave well. I'm a sucker for a shoulder less blade.

Looks like it ought to clean up just fine, great score. I have been wanting a shoulderless blade for awhile now... Might have to start looking a bit more

This one came in today and it did clean up very good. From what i can see it's never been honed since it left Henckel. I cleaned and polished and honed now i wait to try it but I have confidence that it will shave great. After all It's a Henckel.

That seems a very old one, prewar. What number is on it?

No. 52. It's a 6/8 and I believe a spanish point. On the front side is the twin Henckel and solingen germany and on the back side is SNELL HITSHU & WOODARD CO. I believe it is pre-war. I know it honed up good. The scales at the hinge has some marks like the pin has been replaced but the blade is nice and tight and it centers good. anyway can't wait to use it.

Thanked: 1184That bay browsing cost me near 200 bucks last week. And I was doing soooo good. Nice catch though.
Good judgment comes from experience, and experience....well that comes from poor judgment.

Old 52's are hard to come by these days. An excellent grind for any beard type, IMO.

I was right. It shaves very good. I should have never doubted it.
