Default Gillette....................and not a DE or SE

I saw this had just been listed on the gettin' place for a bin price of $20 & I figured I couldn't go wrong on that deal. I got it & it is sharp enough to take hair off but needs touching up. It has very little hone wear.

Yes, it seems I read somewhere that they may have made straight razors before coming out with SE & DE razors & blades but I can't be for sure. I looked on the German razor firms & there were 3 Gillettes. There is a Gillette Deutschland GmbH, Gillette GmbH 1938 & Gillette Safety Razor Co. GmbH 1932.

There certainly 3 Gillettes German firm, but the one you got is a Gilette cutlery co, nothing to do with King Gillette and well after his DE razor came out. Sound like a gimmicky name to make you believe. Still cool.

Yep! I figured this one had nothing to do with King Gillette but like you said, it's still cool. Thank you very much for your input Martin.
