I actually started honing the chips out of the diamond edge looking one. Someone at some point freehanded this like a knife at a knife angle. Still not hitting the apex with two layers on coarse grit. I am going to go 2 till It is good then 1 layer till I am back at the apex and depending on how much the front heel bevel dials in or doesn't, I may go to 0 layers and focus on that area till it is more in line with the rest, dull the whole thing, blend the hone wear back in visually and then default to one layer if the bevel calculates well. Hate when knife guys abuse wedges.

I am chip free. I just need to reach the apex one last time and then I can begin refining. Guy literally honed the thing like a chef's knife.... As hateful as that is it does seem to have had the side effect of leaving that extra bit of meat at the bevel end to withstand micropitting. Steel has not been chipping off the hone at all which is rare for something from sheffield caked in rot.Name: 20161214_160055.jpg

Finally one of these is shave ready.... Gs500, 1k synth bbw slurry to water, coticule side water only, and then instead of the ark I was planning on, I slurried a small amount of hybrid slurry on a hybrid coticule that is just about as hard and went on that to water. It seems stupid sharp right now.... Shave test tomorrow methinks.Name: 20161215_010650.jpg
