Vintage displays
Well sort of! I have a friend who is a skilled woodworker and can do almost anything from making custom lamps from old vintage items to designing display shelves in his mind for me since he knows I love to display my shaving paraphernalia. His dad was also a barber and passed away 4 years ago.
He has made a lot of things for friends and such and the one display with the hones and vintage dandruff shampoo is made from nearly 100 year old barn wood. The second display shelf is made from chestnut oak that is a quarter century cut, not sure how old the actual tree was. The what looks like a antler is actually what most people would walk over in the woods and never give a second thought but it a piece of chestnut oak as well he used to mesh the design together.
He routinely dismantles old barns that owners want removed to make room for the new......he then creates works of art that I am proud to display in my woodworking shop I use to make custom brushes!
I took some old blades and adorned these to make them more custom to shaving memorabilia.
Enjoy!
