    Default another set of scales

Got this wood from cudarunner and spent the day making these up. All dont by hand. Well, I did fire-up the belt sander for a bit. Boker razor. Haven't got the wedge made yet but got it micro-bolted together. I think its going to turn out OK.

I'll do a CA finish on this one. And behind it you can see the next project. I just got the wood hacked out is all.

Those scales look terrific. The slant to the words "our own" sort of lines up with the slant at the wedge end of the scales and it's a nice effect. Good work.

Nice work-Let us see it again when you get the wedge fitted and shaped! I have found that aluminum works easily and polishes to a nice silver that goes perfectly with black woods like ebony, or black horn.

I went with bone. I wanted to give it a try. Aluminum is a good idea too. Ill have to pick some up. Also went with Tru-oil for a coating. Hoping to get this complete for the meet and greet in Denver next weekend.

I opted out on the CA finish. Went with gun stock oil. Had never tried it before so why not. It came out ok. Posted up pics somewhere here. With the blemishes it keeps its old look I think. Plus that's my excuse. ha.
