Smith and Hawksley Semi-Resto project
Hello everyone, first post from an avid snooper. New to straight shaving and have been researching and trying to learn about everything related. Love the forum and was wondering what yall think about my recent acquisition off the bay. Planning on a semi restoration as I want to keep the patina of this old blade.

Forgot to mention the reason I started straight shaving was that I was lucky enough to inherit my great grandfather's straight along with my great uncles.

Welcome to the forum. Getting heirlooms is great. That is how I got into this hobby.
If you are new to honing I would advise you getting one of the pros to hone them for you.
Also, add your location to your avatar. You may have a member close to youIf you don't care where you are, you are not lost.

Definitely not confident enough to try and hone it. How do you add your location? Can't find where to.

You'll have to do it on the forum, not Tapatalk. That's how I did it, but I use Tapatalk so I can post pics. I only have an android phone. Once your back on Tapatalk, go into settings and turn off your signature. It gets rid of the pesty,

PS welcome, nice blade for restoring.
Loads of info in the library on the subject. Also look in the thread " what are you working on", in the workshop.Last edited by outback; 02-07-2017 at 01:43 AM.
