Default B.J. Eyre Flea Market Find and Question

I know that the company has a convoluted history, but can anyone give a rough date for this particular etch? I was happy to find this fellow in this condition, and have only given it a cursory wet sanding with 2000 and 3000. Can't wait to give it a try.

Looks just like my Bingham. IIRC WM Bingham is the maker of mine. Exactly the same etch.

Aren't they late 1850s to early 1870s? A beautiful razor btw.

As you can see in the photo of the tang, this one is marked B.J. Eyre & Cos. which brings up another question. The Late Greaves B.J. Eyre razors are marked with just Co. at the end, and this one and others are marked with Cos. I assume that means Companies. That little difference is probably a dating aid, but it's beyond me.

I have a very similar razor, Wm. Bingham & Co Cleveland O. The only difference in the etch being the Eagle on mine is saying "Excelsior"
