You're on to something there with that old glass..................... I recall seeing a 3 GALLON Lilac Vegetal display glass bottle at an antique store in North Florida about 3 years ago. I would imagine it is still there.

WOW impressive collection Sir! I love the purple glass, I always keep my eyes peeled but never seem to find any. One day when the time is right I spose.

Mate, I learnt an interesting fact a few years ago, antique bottle dealers can "put" a bottle into a "box" and "bombard it" with UV (and I think) IR "rays" to speed up the process of turning it purple.
This doesn't sound dishonest to me, it just speeds up
the natural process !!
I'm hoping that the person (a dealer in bottles) wasn't just
pulling my chain...it wasn't April 1st either, so....Last edited by bongo; 03-16-2017 at 05:41 AM.

Thank You Mike, I remember that lovely example of the "Swedish razor" that you finally found, sorry I forget the name, but I remember your great pix, it must be a year or two now since you've had it, and I'd like to know how you're enjoying it :-)
