Thread: Couple more ebay buys

With shipping, 8 bucks each.
SSA and a Torrey. I already have a nice Torrey but a Swedish razor (SSA) is hard to pass up. Looks like there may be a touch of pitting when im done with them or it might clean up completely althought the scales will need replaced. Nothing reallh special here, just thought they would make good projects.

Here's a little update. Tonight i took the scales off and did a bit of hand wet sanding with 320 grit just to see if these will clean up. The Torrey is looking bad as far as stains. Some pitting but not bad. Maybe if i take it to the buffer and some compounds it will clean up but im not holding my breath.
The SSA seems like it will clean up. Some pitting but nothing on the edge. The toe is a little thinner than at the heal so that will need some work too. Smile? Reshape flat and rework the shoulder? Not sure. Comments? Heres a couple pics of what i got now...


So for what i paid for the pair, even if i only get one razor out of it, i still did ok i figure. It helped me to know when buying how much staining is ok. Plus i dont have an SSA in my collection so if it dont turn out to be the best looking razor, if it cleans up a bit more and takes a bevel ill make scales and put it to use.
