Thanked: 2Father in-law, box of stash in basement
Looking for some info on these items found stashed in a desk drawer in my father in-laws home (recently passed). I think the Tech Razor is still pretty popular though not sure what they are worth. The other thing, never heard of it.

The Gillette Tech is probably the most produced Double Edge Razor of all time. They are a classic, great smooth shavers, and last forever. The fact that the box is still with the razor is a plus. Look on the bottom side of the base plate and see if you can see a letter on one side and a number on the other. If so, it is easy to date the razor. If the code isn't there, then it is from the late 40s at the latest.
The Valet AutoStrop is exactly what it sounds like. It has a stropable blade. Other than that, I don't know much about them.
The Schick injector looks like a relatively late model from the 60s or 70s. I can't tell much from the picture.
All of them are classics and have, at least some value. You might want to look on that famous auction site to see if you can find similar razors. That should help you find the value. I have a couple of Techs and Schicks and use them both from time to time. Both are great shavers.
Let me know if you can find a date code on the Tech.-Doug

The G4 date code actually means that it is from the 4th quarter of 1961. Gillette date codes were used on blades from the 30s, but didn't appear on razors until 1951. This link has all the info: Razor Archive | Gillette Date Codes
If you want to try the Schick, you can get the Schick Injector blades made in China on the Bay. They are the best out there IMO. Double edge blades are available all over the place. I have a similar ball-end Tech. That razor, combined with a Feather DE blade makes for an incredibly close, comfortable shave.Last edited by Demetrius; 04-03-2017 at 12:52 AM.

Thanked: 2Thanks again Doug. I switched from cartridge razors to DE maybe 6 months ago and am loving it. I have a stash of Silver Blue, Feather and my favorite, KAI blades. Looking forward to trying the Tech Razor! Even if I don't use it I think I will buy a stand for it and keep it on display, with the box and my father in laws pic down in the bar area of my den.

Nice find. And with the original boxes, id put them away after a few uses. Pack them up so the cardboard boxes dont get damaged and buy another DE on the Bay to use just like the one you liked the most. Its.hard to find these with the REAL original box!
It's just Sharpening, right?
