Thread: Stubby!

Money being so tight I had to sell off a bunch of stuff, I have been holding back on purchases. But I HAVE put in the occasional low ball bid here and there.

Saw this lot, took a chance on a lowball, and won it. Any info on the manufacturer of the stub tail would be appreciated. On to the photos!

Pretty hard to tell if there is any gold in that stream...
And I KNOW you are all looking and saying "hey, isnt that a big fat W&B in there?!?!?
the close up photos were only marginally better... and also disappointing....

Here is what showed up in the mail today... at least one gold nugget in my swirl pan
Marked W. Patten Cast Steel Measuring 6/8 at the wide.

And for those wondering about the busted up FBU....

Measures in at 17/16, and the chip is about 3/16 deep. Not sure if its worth the effort. Should come out about 7/8 but the etch would be so close to the bottom. I dont know.

That's nice, and sad at the same time. Sorry, no luck on the stub tail.

Yea, I have never heard of him either, and my google skills are on par with an epileptic chimps skill at pool playing

Boy, I think I'd give the FBU a go just to see how it comes out. You never know. Dont know anything on the stub but nice score. Just because of the age of it and not broken like the others. Good Luck.

Ive seen worse looking stubs sell for 4x what I paid for the whole lot.
