    Default Brush find

    Hi everybody,

I found this brush at the antiquarian yesterday. Its not the find of the century, for sure, but I wonder if anybody has a clue how hold it'd be, and how likely it is to not-suck? Is it a well-known model of yesteryear?

At first glance, it'd guess a synthetic bristle travel brush from the 70s.

In terms of waterproofing, I was thinking of removing the broken plastic-ish thing on the handle and just put varnish. Any better suggestions?

Almost looks like it was laminated wood... or could a finish peel off like that if it was immersed in water?

The handle is made of wood with some kind of plastic covering it. Part of that plastic is broken and is showing the wood.

I tried it for the first time today, after washing it in dish soap.
The bristles clump together when wet, making it tricky to face-lather. Maybe I'll get the hang of it at some point.
