Taking a chance.
I've watched this one for over a year . Now from what I see the blade is more than likely toast. The scales how ever look good. I have a fairly nice old sheffield with the back side scale cracked. I like the blade and it shaves good. If these scales will trade out you never know.

Sadly there is a crack. Dang shame too. Glad you can make some use of it.

Thanked: 4828I have bought quite a few razor for little off of eBay so that I can scavenge the scales. I have a small collection of blades to send to Tom for wind chimes.
My guess is you just score some ivory scales to repurpose. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

I have a Sheffield 6/8 hollow ground with the front side of the scales perfect but the back side cracked. I have epoxied the crack and the wedge end so hopefully it want spread more. I keep looking for one with the front side cracked that i could use but so far on the bay it hasn't shown up. sooner or later it will. The blade shaves great. If this set of scales want work for this one then it might on the next. Shipping was more than the razor so i really want loose anything. I do like blades with teeth.

That's how you get scales! They look to be ivory.

This one came today and you win some and you loose some. The scales are good the blade not so good. I now look for a blade for the scales. It keeps things more interesting.
