That's a great first razor. Don't let it spoil you

That's gorgeous. I'm several weeks out from purchasing my first. I eyeball forums regularly and may very well buy vintage when the time comes. However I have been drooling over a new Ralph Aust 11/16 spike as well.

From one newbie to another - that is one fine looking razor! I have a second razor on the way - Hamburg Ring circa 1940's so that I can let my Dovo rest occasionally.

Great razor! Just beware the spike. They are blood hungry little things, especially for new SR users. Really good for precision work, but not real forgiving if you lower your attention level.

Noted. I'm ok learning with a less forgiving profile. It'll encourage me to pay closer attention to technique.

Beautiful razor, welcome to SRP. Any questions ask away, once you get the hang of this you will wonder why anyone shave with plastic junk
Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...
