    Default Off work early

Boss let me off work early today, so naturally I headed out to the antique stores. Scored 2 very nice blades, A Torrey No.900 that has never been on a hone, and a Joseph Rodgers that also has seen very little honing. The Gillette Fatboy they were practically giving away, which made the $30 I spent on the spoke shave not so bad. The strop came with the Torrey. I'm anxious to clean up the Torrey and hone it.

Been looking for a spoke shave for a bit now. Maybe add some flats to some of my brushes. New ones are to expensive..... but so are the old ones too. Saw 4 today and this was the cheapest. I've read that an old Stanely is hard to beat, so that's what I was looking for, and that's what I got.

Keep your eye in the rear view mirror and watch for flashing blue lights..
    You stole this lot!
Being that I was born and raised in Worcester. Ma. I have a soft spot for Torrey's.
That one looks like NOS. Wow! I love the scales with the pearl and teal around the edge.
Everything else looks like it will clean up really nicely too.
    Congratulations and enjoy.

I think it is NOS Pete, just not kept properly. I'm hoping I can get it back to where it needs to be, and I think it shouldn't be too hard.

My guess is that when you're done it will be better than new.

I can only hope. the scales have small brown dots, almost like rust spots. It's the only thing I'm concerned with. I hope they will come off.
