    Default A quick grab

Got off work a bit earlier than usual, today. Stopped at a antiques store that's walking distance from the shop.

Came out with a Boar hide strop, a nice Bengal,in horn, and a Genco Old Dutch.

The Bengal is good to go, besides a touch on the rocks, and a soak in oil for the scales.
Genco needs to come apart for a thorough cleaning. A bit of rust between the scales will also be dealt with.

    Aloha!

    Outstanding! Very nice indeed.

I've been a traveling man for decades and have probably stopped into hundreds of antique stores and flea markets. Never got that lucky. I have two passions. Vintage Stereos and Vintage Razors. Just haven't been lucky enough to find them (at least reasonably priced ones) in all my travels. But there is always hope! Vintage stereos I have had luck finding in garage sales, but no razors or shaving accessories.... YET.

No, I didn't leave early, the boss let me off early. I was scheduled to go home at 5:00 yesterday. I had a on water delivery with the customer, scheduled for 3:30. Customer didn't show up till after 4:00, I didn't get home till 7:00.

So I pitched a bitch with the owner.( my boss's, boss ) Especially after I found out, he went home at 5:00, himself.

I don't get much time off work, and he can't pay me enough for "MY TIME"!!

I was just collecting, what I thought was owed.

Sweet finds! I love to hear about it when folks make that effort to stop and check inside the stores and other places. If ever we hear a little voice saying that there's probably nothing in there, I already checked there last month, gonna be nuthin' new anyways... tell that little voice to go to hell. Mike, you're always looking, scouring the earth - way to be brother!

    Very nice score Mike.
I'm very interested in seeing what you do with that strop.
