3X the fun
Was at the local fair and wasnt finding much of anything that interested me but on my way out found these guys all in great shape.
Dovo Extra
Jospeh Elliots Best Silver Steel with Just Right in gold on the blade
Finally this Wosty IXL with Canuck in gold on the blade. Almost missed this one as it was on the other side of the table half under something else. Being from the great white north I couldnt that one go.
I have already taken some soap and water to the Wosty and honed her up, shaves very nicely. The Jospeh Elliot will probably get new scales before I do anything much with it. As to the Dovo when I get some time its up next

The Sansouci has now reached a point where I will have to take it to the stones. Pastred strops arent bringing back the edge as keen as it was.
On that subject how far down on the stones should I take it to refresh? I was thinking 8k or higher would be good as it still is shavable just not fantastic as it was.

If there's no micro chips, 8000 should be fine. But you might get by with a 12000, and a bit more torque / pressure in the beginning, then light it up.
If you got chips, go to 5000.
Just like restoring a blade, start with the least evasive, (paste/ metal polish) and go from there.Mike

Wonderful score and these are beautiful blades! Looks like there is little to no hone wear.
Nothing is fool proof, to a sufficiently talented fool...
