After geting these today I really wish I could find the Friday Sat. and Sunday razors for this set. The case it's self is in good condition but the hinge was some kind of material that has broken. some kind of cloth I think. I used the really great Duck tape on the back for a temp. repair.

If they are marked as to each day, I'm curious as to the case for four rather than seven.

Thanked: 4826The box in the OP is a seven day box. The way the razors are arranged it looks natural but there are three spaces for razors not used.

It is a seven day box. the razors are marked for the day of the week. only Friday sat. and sun. are missing. chances of locating those are slim to none so I do have 3 Mappin Webb with Ivory I can finish the set with. I know it want be the same but it will fill the empty spaces.

Even with the missing blades that is a sweet set. Congrats on scoring it.

Thanked: 4826I would get a nice hinge from Lee Valley to repair the lid. They have some nice an inexpensive hinges for small boxes

The duck tape held the box together but I would not recommend it. I went to hobby lobby today and picked up a couple of bronze hinges. When I removed the tape from the box it lifted the colored material from the box that had once been the hinge. Well I screwed up OK. I installed the hinges and the top and bottom line up OK and opens and closes OK. Now what to do about the discoloration. The box is a dark maroon color that is dirty. What to do. I remembered that I have several small bottles of touch up paint left over from cars I owned in the past. I looked through all of them and found a bottle of touch up paint from a 2007 Lexus we owned. It's not a perfect match but close. I'm waiting on it to dry so I can use a little of clear lacquer. I do believe it's going to come out not perfect but very usable.

Thanked: 4826I think the box is leather covered and shoe dye would work. If you were really into leather they have a ton of water based pigments you can mix for colour. Most people would likely find the shoe stuff easier to find. I am not sure about the automotive touch up paint but it is already on so if it works I will have to remember that. Fingers crossed.

I really don't know what it's made of but I don't think it's leather. What ever it is it is layered. Where the tape took the material off was all most white like pressed paper . I've things made from glue and paper before and it reminds me of those. Anyway the paint don't look good and it don't look too bad. The box will hold the razors for the rest of my life I think so after that I'll let someone else figure it out. I do like these tooth handled blades.
