    Default Torrey Strop/Hone Combo

I just happened to be on the bay one day & I saw this Torrey combo strop.

It's got a few cuts on the leather but I think it will be okay.
Oh, by the way, I had heard of these & seen a few in the past but every time I would look, I could never find one but while looking for something else I came across this with very little time left on it so I put in my bid & won for $22. It has a Belgian Coticule hone on it. It has the Patented June 6, 82 date on it just like the one I found in a link from here a few years ago.

The back has some leather on it. It was actually labelled 1, 2, 3 & 4

Here's the link but not the one i was looking for:

In that thread, he mentions one would usually use sides 3&4 for stropping & for honing, use sides 1&2. On mine, it looks like the side with the hone says 4 on it but it is really a 1. Someone actually glued a piece of thin leather to the outside cover & when I peeled it off, I found the number 4.

Thanks Mark. I remembered seeing a thread about one, most likely just like this one & every now & then I would look but never would see one but then when I wasn't looking for one, I came across this one about to end & it was cheap enough so I bid on it. I'll add it to my other things like a strop/hone w/razor compartment built into one plus another piece or two I have. I think these coticule combos are quite scarce. You don't see them that often.

If you're looking, you never see. Always the way!
I think Ive seen one or two in the last few years, so you're lucky to have found one. I hope to see that paddle Coticule in hone of the day
