Initial impression is that it will shave very well and smoothly at that.

Did a quick 2 pass, hybrid XTG and an ATG, shave. Wanted to see how it would compare with a Gillette Fat Boy set @9 so used the #6 base plate thinking it would give max blade exposure and blade gap. The info said it was for removing 7 days worth of growth. Lather was supplied by an Omega boar brush an Ingram's shaving cream. Blade was a new Gillette Silver Blue. Post shave was alum and AV Ice Blue AS.

Shaves very much like the Gillette Fat Boy set @9 or any other aggressive DE I have used for that matter. Squeakly clean with no burn. It comes with various base plates so I imagine persons with less robust skin would be able to find a base plate to suit their own particular skin.

No, it is a current production razor. I believe the Italian Barber has them in stock.

Maybe you got some Irish in you Bob, my dad is a full blooded Irishman. And when we get around to talkin money, he always comes back to the second nickel he ever made that he still has! And about how upset he still is about losing the first! Must have done something right he's been retired for 43 years and still isn't short n cash. Tc

If they have anything related to shaving it will be in the cosmetics section. Good luck.
