I did it again but for a different reason
I went to the surgeon yesterday and we are getting set up for Jan. for the knife to the back. We talked and I found out he's a hunter and has been on safari in Africa but not for jumbo. If this one turns out to be made out of a tooth then I'll give it to him but if not I'll pick one out of the safe for him. I know he's not going to use this so I want hone it.

Thanked: 4828Looks good. My hunch is it is ivory. It will make a nice gift.
It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

This one came in today and it looks as good in the hand as it does in the photo. I cleaned all the gunk off it (dried soap and such) it has no rust and the scales are nice. The pins have no collars and the wedge is lead. The scales are thicker than any ivory i've ever seen. now they are not thick like a lot of the plastic scale I've seen but thicker than most of my other razors. Did they make the smaller razors with just a little thicker scales. I have a needle point soldering iron very small that later i will use to ck them. I hope there not imitation. I was going to wait until tomorrow but couldn't . I used the small soldering iron and cked it on the inside next to the hinge pin. It didn't melt. Now I ck a broken plastic scale and it melted rather quickly. That's a load of the mind.
