Thanked: 0I bought the same Hamburg razor on eBay last year. What do you think if it? I just got mine back from honing by Maggards. I'm new to straight razors.
I'm a bit curious about the "Hamburg" name. Is it an actual brand name, or is it a type of grind?

Thanked: 0Well sure, as any Beatles fan knows. But it does not say Made in Hamburg. It just says Hamburg Concave on the blade.

The Hamburg ring . I'm guessing was an industrial area where they ground razors.
There is or was a **** ring in the UK , I forget now..
Hamburg on a blade means that is where is was made or where the grinding was done.

I believe it is both a name of the razor and a city.
