The new place..

So the sub forum is described as being for 'recent acquisitions'. Well i acquired a house.. or rather, my finace' acquired one three years ago and i finally bit the bullet and moved in with her. Its been about 5 weeks and we are getting along quite well (ive been to this rodeo before so im applying all my past mistakes) and i was able to build a pretty nice shave den. Just a few pics..

I bought an 18" strip of oak from HD and stained it to make a nice strop hangar.


Right above the strops (the mirror is for shaving the back of my head).


I bought fancy test tube racks for the razors and used some double sided tape so they dont rain down an me or anyone else.


More razors, my humble brush collection and some other accouterments.


This is the workshop built by one of the previous owners. I didnt turn them on but there are flourescent lights mounted everywhere. Im working on building a new hood vent and eventually im gonna install a utility sink.




For the last few weeks i've been checking off the honeydew list like crazy. There's been plumbing, electrical work, installed a few doors, did some painting, fixed some drywall.. i thank my dad for making me watch him fix stuff when i was a kid. Shes been living here three years and didn't realize the hot water heater was set to 'vacation' the whole time. Yikes!! Its good to feel needed though. I'm hoping by spring ill be back making scales and honing up some new razors.. nice to have some time to get back on the board finally!
