Default I got a nice gift too...

One of my mentors here on this grand forum, ill keep his name a secrete for his sake, sent me a dapping block and punches to help me out with my washers and such. It was my birthday and was a great gift and surprise from a person ive never met face to face. Sorry i dont have a pic as im on the road now but maybe later.

I just wanted folks to know what kind of people we have in this forum. Good people with big hearts. Even though some of them i wouldnt want to meet in a dark alley at night they are still softies when it comes to helping a guy to learn this wonderful hobby.

    Thank you bro!

Just when the world is going crazy like the school shooting this week near me someone comes along and restores your faith in humanity. Even if it's only a little.

Thats what we do, Jerry. We help others the best we can, in all aspects of wet shaving.

Nice story. Thanks Jerry. Good to hear about the positives to help offset the day to day negativity in main stream media..

That's the way of the forum; it is nice to have friends and even nicer to be one! The members are, for the most part, winners in the game of life. So, we all improve daily!

Wow, just wow. What a nice find. I shaved with the same Fat Boy and Slim that I purchased new for $1.50 in the early 60's for over 50 years, then I discovered straights. But that one is special. Congratulations.

I have to apologise to Jerry for dropping this on in his thread, it should have been a new thread. I'll try and delete it.

Your good Bob. No big deal. I seen it and knew it was a mistake. I've done the same before myself.

Hate to bring up an old post but...
Today I got another gift from a member here on this wonderful forum. Its just so amazing the good people here on this forum. a bit of hardware plus 4 blades that were already cleaned and polished, and three sets of used scales. I just dont know what to say. I wont post his name but I wouldn't want anyone to try and take advantage of his kindness, not that I would think anyone would, But he was just trying to help a guy out.

I have been treated so well on this forum as a new guy to the razor restoring. I've been given things by different members, Mentored in many different steps of restoring razors and have made some good friends. I've gotten PM's from folks I've never really chatted with on the forum telling me how well I've grown in this hobby and how proud they are of me in the way I'm learning and growing in this hobby. Traded emails with folks talking of more than razor things like life and the fun we have. I've tried to give a bit myself but what I've given dont compare to what I've gotten in return.

Thank you all for being here and for letting me know that there are damn good people in this crappy world.

And the one thing that hits me the most is, most of these people have never met me in person. I'm going to owe a lot of drinks someday!
