Default Carl Schaaf 401 Solingen "Veni Vidi Vici" razor & H. Boker & Co's Red Injun 101 box

I bought this Carl Schaaf 401 razor which was inside a H. Boker & Co's Red Injun No.101 case from my Grandmother's estate sale. I think they were my Grandfather's. This is my first Straight razor so I would really appreciate any help learning about these particular items.
    Thanks in advance.Name: 20180524_094538.jpg

Here is some info taken from Razor makers .

Carl Schaaf. Solingen: Bismarckstrasse 98 in 1920 and 1939. Brand names: 'Die Gute 5pfg.-Klinge', 'Schaaso', Schaaso-Populär', 'Shakespeare', 'Shakespeare Klinge', 'Veni Vidi Vici', 'Wilhelmus', 'Wilhelmus-Auslese', 'Wilhelmus-Gold'.

Congratulations on getting a nice heirloom. The razor looks in decent shape to me and should take a good edge should you decide to shave with it.

Mismatched boxes/razors are very common. That's a cool razor, and looks to be in pretty good shape. The family connection is nice, too.

    Welcome to SRP.
What is your plan for this razor? Are you thinking of learning to use it or just a keepsake? I razor from a family member is a great thing to have. If you wNt to shave with it, i recommend sending it to one of the folks here that do honing. They can fix it up for you at a minimal cost and then with so help from the group we can get you started in the learning process. We have members in your state so you might not be far away from some face to face help.

    Just let us know.
