Pair of Joseph Elliots made for E. W. Hodgson's
I was lucky to get my hands on this beautiful pair 4 months ago. It was listed on eBay and I was meant to bid but I forgot all about it. Luckily the highest bidder failed to pay and the seller i've bought from many times before wrote and asked, if I was interested in buying them.
Each razor has E. W. Hodgson's cast steel stamped on the spine and the inner sleeve of the box has written in period script the name Hodgson implying that these razors belonged to E. W. Hodgson's himself. According to the 1841 diretory of Sheffield and Rotherham E. W. Hodgson was a steel merchant who lived in Fargate House, Norfolk Road, Sheffield. I was provided this information by the seller and if anyone has something to add i'd be more than happy.
