Default Thompson, Henry Street in MOP

Just in from France. The maker is Thompson, and on Henry Street. I'm thinking it is Samuel Thompson at No. 6 Henry (from an 1830 Dublin directory). I'd peg it right around the 1820s-30s based on style.

The plate on the scales is engraved C. Giraudeaux, but I've yet to identify the name. It is quite fancy for the time, the spine at the tang and even the wedge are intricately carved. And the photos don't do the relief casting of the endcaps justice.

I actually think it's German silver, or a nickel base. It's bonded to the brass scale liners and wasn't tarnished like silver. The piquee pins I'm sure are actual silver.

The owner probably didn't have to shave himself so he didn't mind.
