Thompson, Henry Street in MOP
Just in from France. The maker is Thompson, and on Henry Street. I'm thinking it is Samuel Thompson at No. 6 Henry (from an 1830 Dublin directory). I'd peg it right around the 1820s-30s based on style.
Anyway, here it is:
The plate on the scales is engraved C. Giraudeaux, but I've yet to identify the name. It is quite fancy for the time, the spine at the tang and even the wedge are intricately carved. And the photos don't do the relief casting of the endcaps justice.
