Default Some honing goodies from an auction

Got these in a lot at an auction, would really like to know what the natural stone is, it's as big as a brick.

Would that be considered a finishing stone?

Lap it, give it a go. That's all ya can do.! If not, then maybe some where in a honing progression.

My experience with slate is that it can be anywhere from 5000 to 12000 grit.
As Outback said, you will have to try it and see.

Seeing the nagura(s) makes me wonder if it is a slate or a hard rock like some of the other imported stones. Notable "On beyond 10,000" ( last year) and other really hard stones
