    Default Free belt?

Well, the local rummage collector came through today. I had a few furniture pieces for him and some old washers and dryers. He needed to tie things down in his truck and asked the boy with him to grab the belts from up front. As one of those "belts" crossed my eye I screamed for a halt. Well I'm glad I saw this about to be used as a tow strap. Anyone know how to care for an Illinois 127? It's gotta be as close to mint as I've seen in Austria.

    That's a good eye lol.

That looks in better condition than mine.

A bit of neatsfoot maybe, or even a good rubbing of the leather with the palm of your hand.

If its pliable, clean it with saddle soap, and use the next day. That's a great save..!!

Go to the Library and look up care of strops.
You have a good one and way better than mine also. Mine is often used. That number was common but the Horse-head is unusual. I would guess that it is a horse leather strop.

So I have been using this strop instead of the paddle I started with. Had no idea the jump in performance I would get switching to a wider and nicer strop. I feel the call for more strops coming.

Look out. S.A.D. can get you a wall full of strops before you know it.

Way to go on that save!!!

You now know what a real good strop is like and the performance of your razor. As Gasman said, watch it, it’s another rabbit hole
