    OMG!!! That is horrible. I would be pissed and i am sure you are. Worst part about loosing that is it is so rare.

    Here are a couple of pics of recent USPS handiwork...it's often their mechanical handling equipment that does this but still....

    Fortunately my purchase wasn't lost or damaged, but pictures are always worth a 1,000 words for claims. Zak, with auction houses I've often received a rebate or etc. on fees when their poor packing was at play as well.

    In general, insurance is an inexpensive investment for expensive items that are shipped by all the major players in that industry...stuff can happen.
