Oh what beautiful razors. I absolutely love the skrimshaw on the back.
My heart paused in panic hearing one was lost in the mail. I felt your pain. Hopefully something comes of it for you. That truly is heart breaking tho.Last edited by Wightman; 10-20-2018 at 03:22 AM.

This thread is maddening! I have watched packages go in circles in central/eastern North Carolina, coming so close I could have met the truck in 2 hours drive. The crushing is a whole other pet peeve....what do they do...have designated stompers?!?
The missing razor drives me crazy, especially given the uniqueness of the others. Wow/damn is all I can say.Just call me Harold

I submitted copious documentation to USPS and I’m waiting to hear back from them at this point.
Also, the very next package I got was also squished, it MUCH better packed. I’ve gotten many, many packages and never anything smooshed... me, two in a row. Amazing-Zak Jarvis. Writer. Artist. Bon vivant.

Thanked: 480I am baffled by sellers decisions to pack items with the care equivalent of a French Queen for her starving peasants. I once got a Nikon Labophot microscope, delivered in a single wall cardboard box, with a single cornflakes box crushed flat inside for padding. It arrived in 4 pieces, non of which were designed to be that way. I was able to secure a full refund from the seller as PayPal was suitably convinced by my photos of the packaging .
I hope you at least get some recompanse, from which ever party inolved. I know it doesnt make up for the loss of the item itself, especially if you had scored a great value at a discounted price. And having known some one in the P.O I can tell you with certainty, there is every chance in the world it had a little "help" falling out of the package. Once the opening occurs, once a piece sticks though.... its fair game apparently.
Good luck, and I'm glad you got at least SOME of your razors !

I dated a woman who worked at the P.O. she said the same thing. Things go missing. Hard to isolate interactions with packages to monitored areas. Etc.
Packages entering or leaving certain states like California go missing more often as it's more likely to have something of interest in it.“You must unlearn what you have learned.”

Remember that, according to laws, they must hire folks, if given a choice, they would rather not.
we see that here especially during the holiday season. he rest of the year I am fortunate to thinking and working individuals on the routes and sorting stations.
JMO, YMMV

A few years ago I sold a razor on eBay. It was a nice Sheffield in bone scales. I dropped it off at one of the main PO's in Chicago. The tracking showed acceptance and transfer to another Chicago office. And that was the last that anyone had heard of it. I had to refund the seller because he obviously never received it but the PO was another story. They refused to honor the insurance stating that it COULD still be in transit. They gave me the runaround for weeks and I simply did not have the time to devote to fighting with them. Someone was always going to call me back that never did and when I called them it was like calling Comcast. They wanted to start from the begining and have you restart your modem.

It seems odd to me that the USPS, which can and does lose money every year, routinely "misplaces" or misdirects things by whole states. Meanwhile, today from UPS I got notification that via a new feature, I can now watch the progress of packages on a map, down to the neighborhood. They are a successful for-profit enterprise. Here is a screenshot of a package coming to me today.

I worked part-time, night shift at UPS from ‘88 to ‘92 while putting myself through college. They ran a supremely efficient operation. I pretty much treated the job as a kick-a$$ workout. Not only did I receive 2 weeks paid vacation annually, but I received the best healthcare of my adult life from that company.
I must say though that you would be amazed at the few months of Christmas chaos in one of their sorting HUBs......--Mark
