    Default Finally bought an SFK

I've been going back and forth on buying one of these for years and finally pulled the trigger on it. Much shinier than I expected and easily took a scary sharp and hopefully comfortable edge. The balance of it isn't nearly as bad as I thought it would be, but I can see why people replace the scales with something lighter. I'll probably wait to shave with it on Sunday as I got a bit of sun today and don't want to aggravate my skin too badly.

I have a couple of them and they seem to be pretty good shavers. I am not a fan of the scales because it puts them off ba.ance and that messes with my stropping mojo, otherwise they are awesome.

The stropping was a bit awkward, but not nearly as bad as some of my early rescale jobs.

Are they a thinner grind than the Wapis?

It's a pretty beefy full wedge.

I have both and they are exactly the same and somewhere between a half and a quarter hollow. I imagine there were several renditions of both.

Are these being made again? I recall the Wapi's being NOS then gone. Where did you track this down?
I've got a couple too, quite like them apart from the weight of the scales. They hone up nice and quickly, and I find them very smooth. I keep thinking I'll re-scale them but there's never enough time in the day. I should find someone to do it for me.

I found it nos on ebay from Hungary. I think the seller had multiple of them.
