RARE 5/8 Vintage BROOKES & CROOKES straight razor with bone scales
Hey Y'all.
Just scored this from the bay and here's what the listing had to say:
"I purchased a collection of vintage antique straight razors and related items from the niece of a barber who practiced his trade in Portland during the 1920s through the 1940s. I will be listing those items over the next few weeks.
Here we have a rather early Brookes & Crookes straight razor made in Sheffield, England. This fine razor is in very fine condition with just a few scattered freckles and some sharpening scuffs. The blade is very sharp. The original bone scales are in excellent condition with no damage. "
I had read a few threads lately about Brookes & Crookes. So this one was basically free on Ebay so I snagged it. I also want to know who was biting on the blade in the last picture. WTF? Maybe I'll ask the seller...lol
Thanks. Have a great weekend.

Re the last pic, my guess is they missed the spine on a few honing strokes hence the scratches on the face.
The white gleam of swords, not the black ink of books, clears doubts and uncertainties and bleak outlooks.
