The end of the rainbow
Took my first trip into the wilds today. As I was getting into the truck this morning I noticed this.
I'd already mapped out where I was going to go, but after seeing a rainbow that early in the morning, I changed my direction for the hunt.
I only made it to two of my hunting spots, and ran out of bullet's. The game was thick at the first spot, took a while looking through the herd, picking off the most dominant of the group's.
My second spot had been recently poached out, but I did manage to put my sights on four, I only pulled the trigger on three of them. The fourth was already dead in its tracks.
I was also lucky enough to pop a Double Duck, shave brush, sitting upon a puck of vintage Williams mug.
So here's today's bag
Left row, top-bottom
George Wostenholems, The celebrated, extra hollow ground, Pipe Razor. #149
Torrey Razor Co.
Levering Razor Co. The Artist.
Right row, top-bottom
H. Boker.
Finest India Steel. Ivory covered tang.
Wade & Butchers
Celebrated, Fine India Steel Razor.
Wade & Butchers.
Bow Razor.
Wade & Butchers
Celebrated Razor, Pressed horn scales.
Bottom center
Marshes & Shepherd. Tapered Blade.
Pond Works, Sheffield.
Im curious if Williams Mug will still honor the deal on the shave mug.
Still has the appropriate paperwork.
So follow you rainbows, gents. A pot O gold, may be in your reach. Thanks for looking.Mike

Places like that, is the reason I don't own a credit card.
I left my name and phone # for this vendor. I know he's not been selling much, lately. He had everything marked down 20%. Maybe I can get him to work a deal with me..
Those weren't the only cases in the store, Jerry. There are many with razors in them, but not like these two.
There's more razors in that store, than I have shave ready.
But their a wee little pricey for me. Reasonable, but not as much to me. I've gotten oodles of razors for less, but when the hunt is short lived for just a day, gotta stand at your best spots.Mike

Thanked: 4828I love your hunting stories.
I am also a tad envious.
The etched wade and butcher looks to be in pretty fantastic shape. It's not what you know, it's who you take fishing!

Its almost perfect. Shaun. Speck of rust at the pivot, and a water spot on the backside of the blade. Hopefully it will rub out. Other than that, the collars need polished, and the scales oiled and a polish.
Its been honed once, no more than twice.
It was the most expensive of all the others. $52Mike

I thinks you will find that the brush is a wooden form seemingly dipped in molten aluminum.
At least the few I have had were?

That brush is going to look reeeeeally nice cleaned up. What a haul. Congrats Outback! I get lucky sometimes but never that lucky. Pot of gold.
What a curse be a dull razor; what a prideful comfort a sharp one
